This article will provide you with the information and tools you need to make the right size choices. you usually get

Most t-shirt size charts provide at least the width and length. Even though t-shirts are made for 3D humans, they are measured lying flat – just one reason figuring out t-shirt sizes is so hard.

For Adults (Men & Women)

Use Our Size Chart Below
Start with our adult size chart, which includes measurements
for chest width and shirt length. The most accurate way to
find your size is to measure a shirt you already own and
love, then match those numbers.

Consider the Fit You Want

  • Prefer a relaxed fit? Go one size up.

  • Like a more fitted look? Stick with your exact measurements.

  • Unisex styles generally fit like men's sizes, so women may prefer sizing down for a snugger fit.

Order Extra for Group Events
If you're ordering for a team, event, or organization, we recommend ordering a few extra in commonly needed sizes like Large and XL—just in case!

For Youth

Age Is Just a Starting Point
Youth sizes can vary by brand and body type. Instead of relying
only on age, compare your child’s chest measurement to
our youth size chart.

Plan for Growth
Kids grow fast—when in doubt, size up! A slightly larger shirt is
better than one that’s too snug, especially for active play or
long-term use.

We’ve included a visual guide showing youth models in different sizes so you can get a better feel for
how the shirt fits across body types.

Other factors for selecting group t-shirt sizes

There are differences based on order size. If you're ordering for a smaller group, XS and 3XL sizes may not be needed. Our advice for smaller group orders is as follows:

  • SM = 10%

  • M = 23%

  • L = 31%

  • XL = 23%

  • 2XL = 9%

A simplified t-shirt breakdown for smaller orders is:   1 – 2 – 3 – 3 – 1

Fabric Shrinkage

Depending on the t-shirt selected, the fabric can shrink and alter the fit requiring a change in order sizing. 100% cotton t-shirts shrink approximately 2%, while shirts made from 50/50 poly-cotton blend, tri-blend fabric, or 100% polyester t-shirts won't shrink. When in doubt, we recommend adjusting ordered sizes to be larger.

The Bottom Line

By now you know that ordering t-shirts for other people gets tricky fast — but you also know what to look out for to make it easier. Your best bet is to go with a classic relaxed unisex fit, and if possible, give people the size chart to choose for themselves. If not, adapt your ordering for your demographic, order a variety, and add extras.
