THE STORY OF US
Rutler Screen Printing, founded in 1954 in George’s garage, has grown into a leader in the industry. Operating from an 18,000-square-foot facility in Easton, PA, we offer top-notch screen printing, embroidery, private stores, and fulfillment services. With decades of experience and a commitment to "never disappoint and always amaze," we provide exceptional quality and customer satisfaction.

George Rutler
Founded in 1954 from the humble confines of George's garage, Rutler Screen Printing began as a specialized workshop crafting signs, decals, and bumper stickers. The operation's reputation for excellence quickly catalyzed growth, necessitating a move to a spacious 5,000-square-foot facility on Belview Road in Phillipsburg, NJ.
George's commitment to superior craftsmanship and efficient production timelines attracted prestigious clients, including renowned artist Clarence Carter and corporate giant Blockbuster Video. As the business flourished and demand intensified beyond what George could fulfill single-handedly, he embarked on a strategic search for a business partner to help sustain and expand the thriving enterprise.

John Shubert
In 1974, John established a modest engraving and screen printing operation in Irvington, NJ. The lengthy daily commute from Phillipsburg soon proved unsustainable, prompting a fortuitous introduction through his wife to her employer, George. Their professional chemistry led to a business merger in 1976, creating their first formal corporation.
Throughout the following decade, the partners expanded beyond their original offerings of signs, decals, and bumper stickers to embrace the lucrative market of garment printing. The 1980s marked a transformative period for their enterprise, highlighted by significant success in the concert merchandise industry—producing tour merchandise for prominent recording artists.
George's retirement in 1986 left John at the helm of their thriving business. He navigated the company independently for eight years until his son Allen joined the operation, initiating a new chapter in the family enterprise's evolution.

Allen Shubert
Allen embraced his heritage in 1994, stepping into the family business immediately following his high school graduation. Under his father's mentorship and guided by their enduring philosophy to "never disappoint and always amaze," he immersed himself in every aspect of the operation. Beginning in the art department, Allen mastered the rudimentary technologies of the era—systems that would appear painfully primitive by contemporary standards—before transitioning to the production floor to develop comprehensive expertise.
The millennium marked a strategic pivot for Rutler as they discontinued their signage division in 2000 to concentrate exclusively on apparel printing. Throughout the subsequent two decades, Allen methodically assimilated his father's business principles while progressively assuming greater operational responsibility. The leadership transition unfolded organically, without a definitive moment of handover, as father and son formed an exceptional management partnership until 2012, when John finally embraced his well-earned retirement after decades of dedication to the craft.

Samantha T.
Sales Representative
Hey! I’m Sam (Sam T, Sam 2, Samantha, it really depends on the day). I joined the Rutler team in 2023 and I love it here! There is a sense of belonging and the environment is welcoming, positive, and productive. We have a great mix of personalities (big and small) which I love. We are a true team and are encouraged to voice our thoughts and ideas. This allows us to strive to be our best every day. Being very passionate about people, I have been working alongside customers for most of my adult life, and I’m able to really focus on that at Rutler. Seeing our clients get excited about their designs and finished product is rewarding to say the least! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my 2 daughters (6 & almost 2). If I’m not doing the mom thing, I like to scroll TikTok, watch tv, and make people laugh. Occasionally, I bake a mean cake, too!

Josh R.
Production Manager / Art Director
I started at Rutler in 2016 as the secondary artist and quickly moved into the role of Art Director. Over the next several years I learned as much as I could about the production side of the business and now, I am fortunate enough to manage our screen print production team and the art team. My goal is to ensure that every garment that leaves our building has the highest quality print possible. From the beginning steps of art proofing to the final boxing, we work our hardest to give you the best product and service around. For those of you wondering, yes, Lara is my wife! We have been together since 2013, happily married since 2019, and look forward to working together every day. Outside of work I am an avid golfer, gamer, and Philadelphia sports fan. I also help run a golf tournament each year for my brother, called the Drive for Adam, to raise money for Niemann-Pick Type C. For more information, please visit raceforadam.org.
